South Korean actress Song Hye Kyo has candidly spoken about a guy she admires the most and he is no other than actor Geum Sung Moo (real name: Takeshi Kaneshiro).

She said he has always been her ideal type.

The revelation occurred during promo events for their upcoming flick, Taiping Lun.

Taiping Lun is a two-part disaster melodrama about the sinking of the Taiping Lun during the Chinese Civil War in 1949, focusing on the eight love stories of three couples, starring Oh Woo Sam.

Song Hye Kyo as Zhou Yunfen — a finance mogul who copes with tragedy and self-discovery in a war-torn world.

After the film's premiere, Song reportedly spoke in a press conference about her enthusiasm for working with legendary Asian cinema star Geum Sung Moo, known for his roles in such blockbusters as Chungking Express and Red Cliff.

She said, "I grew up with his movies. It is great to work with someone that I idolize in a way."

Song plays a pure young woman who changes into a battle-hardened survivor dealing with devastating losses — and her performance and role in Taiping Lun has garnered plenty of attention.

Reviewers have also lauded her skill of expressing brilliant emotional nuance within the film.

Along with Song and Geum, Taiping Lun has a glamorous cast, including Zhang Ziyi (above) and Huang Xiaoming.

Based on its dramatic story and its exploration of love during turbulent times, the film is turning heads.

Meanwhile, Song Hye Kyo is gearing up for the premiere of her upcoming film The Dark Nuns, which will be released on January 24, 2025.

She appears in the film as a nun fighting against dark and powerful evil spirits in the occult thriller featuring actress Jeon Yeo Been.
