Actor Kim Na Gil has constantly been in the news, not so much for his acting but rather for the rumors surrounding his personal life.

He was also linked to other leading ladies, such as Son Ye Jin and Jang Nara, through rumors throughout many years but was vehemently denied.

It was reported widely that Kim and another Korean star, Son Ye Jin, had been dating for four months in 2013. The duo started as friends but became lovers while filming the PBS drama Shark, according to SBS Entertainment Sports.

Although the drama ended tragically, rumors abounded that the co-stars would be finding a more positive ending in real life.

"They got close filming," A pal of both actors said. "It seems they developed deep feelings for each other as they played tragic lovers." They were also said to have met near their homes and even gone on a date in Japan.

After the drama, Kim and Son were paired together to co-lead the movie Pirates. A production representative opened up about why Kim was cast, including how Son played a role.

"Along with Kim Na Gil, we were also looking at another actor for the part. [We] were split down the middle, and in the end, it was Son Ye Jin's influence." The decision was made after she positively recommended Kim Na Gil, they said.

Son sparked wedding rumors when she said on a press tour of her movie A Compliance, "It seems they developed deep feelings for each other as they played tragic lovers." The rumors were ignited when Kim Na Gil showed up to support Son at a press conference.

And yet, both stars' agencies were quick to refute the relationship. A spokesperson for Son's agency, M Stem Entertainment, called the rumors "absurd," and said: "If they really were dating, they would be honest about it." Starji Entertainment, the agency representing Kim, called the rumors "untrue."

And the speculation didn't stop right there. An online rumor spread in August 2019 claiming that Kim Na Gil and actress Jang Na Ra have been together for seven years and are getting married in November.

The rumor gained traction before being revealed as false after fans quickly busted a supposed screenshot of a Dispatch article from which the claim above originated. Rumors about both were commercially blown over.

Dispatch denied the rumors and clarified on Facebook, "Both Kim Na Gil and Jang Na Ra's agencies have quickly denied the rumors."

Kim Na Gil speaks about relationships and his type from time to time. In an interview, he said:

"I used to like women of fair complexion with long hair, a lady with deep eyes, and someone who looks great in jeans. However, as I grow older, I just look for someone who could understand me and make me feel at rest when I am with that person. I don't deny that beauty is also important; however, the heart comes first."

Amidst the public intrigue, however, news agency reps can only continue to emphasize the difference between what is true and what is speculation.
