Chinese tycoon Wang Xiaofei, whose ex-wife was late Taiwanese star Barbie Hsu, is now accused of profiting off of her tragic death.
Hsu, who appeared on such hit small-screen dramas as "Meteor Garden" and "Summer's Desire," passed away earlier this week at the age of 49. The public interest around her death has focused on her turbulent marriage to Wang, which ended in 2021 after a 10-year marriage.
As per VnExpress, the former girlfriend of Wang, Zhang Yingying, released social media postings on Feb. 4, claiming Wang had caused multiple difficulties in Hsu's life during their marriage.
Zhang claimed in an extensive post that Hsu had done things such as change her eating habits during pregnancy and obtain loans for Wang's entrepreneurial pursuits in his time with her.
Zhang went on to accuse Wang of not just beating Hsu but also changing the way people see her. She also alleged he has had various extramarital affairs and seemingly allowed his mother to abuse Hsu in public verbally.
Wang wrote in a polarizing social media post, "Wifey, I miss you so much" and "I should be the one who died," following Hsu's death.

Wang's present wife, Mandy Ma, called upon the public to throw stones at her instead of Wang. Detractors argue that Wang has exploited Hsu's death to further his profile, despite his efforts to portray her in mourning.
In a media statement, Wang's family has denied he was the one who brought Hsu's ashes back in private jets. Hsu had reportedly willed all her belongings to her mother and the children, which may leave her current husband — DJ Koo — with nothing.
People are still talking about the saga of Hsu's death, her legacy, and the people associated with the life she left behind. Wang has not publicly responded directly to Zhang's accusations.
