For those who wonder what it might be like to have a k-pop or k-drama star as a roommate, a new variety show offer some clues. Do they leave the cap off the toothpaste? Forget to take out the garbage? Would you care if it were Lee Dong Wook?
Probably not. But some of his new roommates might.
The new variety show "Roommates" assembles a cast of 10 or more talented stars and has them live together in the same household. These stars have proven they have what it takes to be a success but there is no proof they will remember to wash the dishes.
The variety show will document their interactions, which are sure to include some comic and some dramatic moments. Some of the roommates will become friends or strengthen the bonds of their friendship but others are likely to clash over their living arrangements.
So far the singing roomies are 2NE1's Park Bom, After School's Nana and Lee So Ra. Nana and Park Bom are already friends so they will be inclined to get along. And k-pop stars are used to living in dormitories and having to share with their fellow band members. EXO member Chanyeol is also on the short list as a possible candidate.
Actors may be another story. The actors in the variety show include Lee Dong Wook, Seo Kang Joon, Park Min Woo, Hong Soo Hyun, Shin Sung Woo and Jo Se Ho.
Lee Dong Wook has been in more than a dozen dramas and is soon to appear in the drama "Hotel King" with Lee Da Hae. Seo Kang Joon is currently romancing Lee Min Jung in the comedy "Cunning Single Lady." Park Min Woo was last seen in "Can We Love." Actress Hong Soo Hyun last appeared in "Give Love Away." Shin Sung Woo has not been seen in a drama since 2010 but he recently became a popular guest on "Infinity Challenge." You may remember actor comedian Jo Se Ho from his role as a manga store customer in "You Who Came From The Stars."
Also said to be joining the cast are fighter Song Ga Yeon, who appeared on the XTM program "Crying Fist." Odds are that no one will want to fight with Song Ga Yeon about who does the dishes.
The roommates will move in together starting this week. The variety show will follow "K-Pop Star 3" on April 20.
