Nandagopal Rajan of the Indian Express writes, "I am willing to go out on a limb and call what I saw today one of the best Android smartphones to be launched in a while. This phone has a few features that will, in my books, justify what I am saying. You might differ, even I might differ after I actually get to use the phone for a few days. In terms of design, there was no meandring that the M7, or the M8's precursor was the finest looking smartphone on the Android market. However, the M8 has upped the standards and come up with a swell looking phone that would be a pride and joy for any smartphone user.
With a neat and clean looking all-metal finish, the M8's unibody design is a fascination for many HTC watchers. Now it comes with a micro-SD card slot with a whopping 128GB support, perhaps the most storage memory among the top end smartphones - if not, it will definitely be in the top ten because even the iPhone does not go above 32 or 68 GB expandable memory.
Darren Sng, HTC’s Asia product marketing senior director touts the M8 with a “jewellery grade finish”. The phone will come in 3 colors, one of which will be in a gold trim; both Samsung and Apple have their versions of gold edged phones as well.
he killer feature of the phone. It has two lenses at the back, but the second lens is not exactly a camera, but a depth sensor that adds a new layer of data and detail to photographs shot with HTC’s popular Ultra Pixel camera.
The Sense 6 function adds an intelligence feature to the HTC One M8 because it makes an attempt to understand what you are trying to do with the phone and responds in a corresponding fashion. So this is a great effort even if it is not Siri or Google Now.
Apart from that, the extreme power saving mode is something that is a 'must have' technology at this point and the reasons could be a long list all the way from greenhouse gases, energy waste, diminishing energy resources and higher electric bills.
