Jung Woo Sung and Kim Ha Neul will appear in a crowd-funded indie film titled "Don't Forget Me." The movie began as a 2011 short film titled "Remember O Goddess" and raised production funds through Kickstarter, the online fundraising site. Now that it's fully funded, "Don't Forget Me" has attracted two top stars for its leading roles, which in turn will generate even more attention.
"Don't Forget Me" is the story of Suk Won, a lawyer who loses his memory after he's involved in an accident. He finds himself in an apartment but cannot remember who he is. He falls in love with a woman he meets and slowly tries to recover his memories of the past ten years. Their love is compromised by the fact that he does not know who he is or whether there are important people waiting for him to recover his memory. What will happen to their love when he remembers who he is?
Jung Woo Sung not only plays the role of Suk Won but he is also one of the film's producers. Filming begins this month once he finishes filming "Madame Bluff."
The actor has starred in over a dozen films, most recently "Cold Eyes." He last appeared on the small screen in the 2011 melodrama "Padam, Padam: The Sound of His And Her Heartbeats." One of his best known films was "Beat" in 1997 and he will next be seen as a baduk player in the film "The Divine Move."
Kim Ha Neul will play Jin Young, the woman his character falls for. She was offered the role in December but only recently agreed to be in the film. Jin Young falls in love with Suk Won at first sight but its not easy loving a man without a past.
It will be her first film role since she appeared in the 2011 film "You're My Pet." In that film she played a woman who adopted a "pet human," played by Jang Geun Suk. The actress was recently seen on the small screen in the 2012 drama "Gentleman's Dignity." She won a Best Female Actress Award for her portrayal of a blind woman in "Blind."
It will be the first time that the two actors work together.
Acclaimed director Lee Yoon Jung will direct the film. The original short film starred Kim Jung Tae in the role that will now be played by Jung Woo Sung. The director raised $30,000 to fund the film.
