Lee Kwang Soo, who is known for being a cheerful and energetic comedian, shows a different and more mature side of himself through his upcoming movie "Good Friends."
His character Min Soo is someone who is fiercely loyal to his friends, considering them his family. Lee Kwang Soo was able to accurately portray the anxiety and torment that his character feels, earning him compliments from the staff and crew.
In addition, he also insisted on doing the action scenes without using a stunt double to further understand his character. He said, "The martial arts director choreographed the action scenes. I talked to Joo Ji Hoon about it, and I thought it would be better for me to get hit."
Showing his professionalism, he added, "Although it was painful, it was very helpful to me."
His co-star Joo Ji Joon commented, "Not long after we started filming, we already had to shoot a fight scene. I'm thankful towards Kwang Soo for having an open mind about it, and for doing well in the scenes."
Director Lee Do Yoon also expressed, "Lee Kwang Soo is giving it his best. His character Min Soo is someone who likes to drink, and to film the scene, he would drink a whole bottle by himself.
"Good Friends" is about three men who struggle to keep their loyalties and friendship with one another amidst a crisis that would challenge their relationship.
The movie is scheduled to premiere on July 10.
