Portugal's soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo could be out of the World Cup due to a knee injury, according to CBC Sports.

Ronaldo was seen limping off a Campinas practice field early on Wednesday, long before the scheduled session was done. This is the second time this has happened at this World Cup, according to NY Daily News.

A trainer led Ronaldo through a series of stretches and then strapped a heavy ice bag to an area of tendinitis during the session.

There were reportedly unconfirmed reported in the morning, originating out of media in Spain, that Ronaldo had been warned by Portuguese doctors not to play at all at this World Cup and that he would risk his career by playing the upcoming game against the U.S.

Ronaldo was reportedly doubtful to play before Portugal's opening 4-0 defeat by Germany, but said before the game he was "100 percent fit."

Although the U.S. has not given a real update on Jozy Altidore's hamstring injury, he will reportedly most likely be out of the match on Sunday, and likely longer.

Portugal will reportedly be going into the match on Sunday without Pepe, who is serving a ban for his head butt on Thomas Muller in the opener, while Fabio Coentrao is out with a thigh injury.
