In a year remarkable for the number of reunions between k-drama actors, Lee Seung Gi and Moon Chae Won are expected to increase the total when they reunite for an upcoming film "Woman of Three Men."
If he accepts the role, it will be Lee Seung Gi's first film role but it will be the second time he has acted in a drama with Moon Chae Won. The two previously starred in the 2009 drama "Brilliant Legacy," which also starred Han Hye Joo. In that drama Moon Chae Won's character loved Lee Seung Gi's character so much she was prepared to abandon her stepsister for him. But it was the wrong choice as he fell for Han Hye Joo's character. "Brilliant Legacy" was a hit, with its 28th episode reaching 47.1 percent in viewer ratings.
Moon Chae Won last appeared in a film in 2011. Since starring in the film "Arrow, The Ultimate Weapon," she has focused on dramas. She had roles in "Painter of the Wind," "Nice Guy" and "Good Doctor." In "Good Doctor," she played the doctor who won Joo Won's heart.
Lee Seung Gi currently plays the bitter rookie detective Eun Dae Gu on the police drama "You're All Surrounded." Last year he appeared as a half mythical creature in "Gu Family Book" with Suzy Bae. He previously had leading roles in "My Girlfriend Is A Nine-Tailed Fox" with Shin Min Ah and "The King 2 Hearts" with Ha Ji Won.
According to a June 18 report by StarN, "Lee Seung Gi is currently in the final stages of discussion for the lead role in the film 'Woman of Three Men.' As long as there is no incident, he will be cast in the film."
As you might expect from the title, the film will concern a charming television forecaster who is loved by three men. The three men are friends.
The production company has not finished casting the other two men that Lee Seung Gi's character must compete with. Once the casting is complete the drama will begin filming.
Although this film is expected to be a romantic comedy, the director, Park Jin Pyo is best known for melodramas. He directed "You Are My Sunshine, "Accomplice" and "Closer to Heaven."
Other k-drama actor reunions this year include that of Choi Ji Woo and Kwon Sang Woo in the drama "Temptation," Lee Dong Wook and Lee Da Hae in "Hotel King," Jang Nara and Jang Hyuk in "Fated To Love You," and Lee Jun Ki and Nam Sang Mi in "The Joseon Gunman."
