Breaking Bad spinoff news reveals "Better Call Saul's" on-going production for the show that will air in 2015 on the same network as its predecessor show, AMC.

The "Breaking Bad" spinoff will be revolving around the life of Saul Goodman, a New Mexico criminal lawyer, portrayed by actor Bob Odenkirk. "Better Call Saul" will be set as a prequel to the Walter White storyline, which is starred by Bryan Cranston.

The Breaking Bad spinoff news was confirmed by AMC President Charlie Collier in a report by entertainment news website Variety.

"Production on 'Better Call Saul' is under way and we could not be more proud of nor more excited about the work to date," Collier said of the Breaking Bad spinoff news. "We join the fans in eager anticipation for this series and today we happily confirm that our initial 'Saul' order is for two seasons and a total of 23 episodes."

"Breaking Bad" was created and produced by Vince Gilligan, along with Peter Gould and Thomas Schnauz, and have partnered up with Sony Pictures Television and Gran Via Productions.

With the same set of people at the helm for "Better Call Saul", Collier is optimistic about its outcome as early as now.

"When introducing any series, especially one with the DNA of 'Breaking Bad,' there are countless factors to consider in making sure the show gets the launch it deserves," he explained. "We have a strong history with Vince, Peter, Bob, the studio and so many involved with this production."

"We are enjoying the process on 'Saul' and all share a focus on making it a true television event," he added. "No half measures."

Jonathan Banks, who will be reprising his role of Mike Ehrmantraut, will also be joining Bob Odenkirk. Michael McKean is also penned for a co-starring role.
