Maleficent Box Office News: World Cup Didn't Stop Angelina Jolie's Disney Film To Earn $500M; 'Think Like a Man,' '22 Jump Street' and 'How To Train Your Dragon 2 Now Rocking The Theaters Worldwide

According to Maleficent box office News of Hollywood Reporter, the film of Anglina Jolie has earned $500 million mark at the worldwide box office, making it as Jolie's highest grossing live-action film.

Jolie's previous best film was Mr. & Mrs. Smith, which earned $478.2 million in 2005. His husband Brad Pitt starred and partnered her in this movie.

Maleficent is a fantasy adventure movie just like other remake fairytale live action films. The difference of Maleficent among other fairytale remake movies is that it is about the untold story of Disney's most iconic villain in Sleeping Beauty named Maleficent (source: Den Of Geek).

Instead of focussing on Sleeping Beauty, the story revolves around the elements of Maleficent's betrayal, making her pure heart to stone.

Currently, Maleficent movie has now crossed a milestone by reaching the $500 million mark, higher than Jolie's previous movie, Mr.and Mrs. Smith. This is considered the best achievement of Jolie for making the best performace as a villain.

Maleficent earned gross of $20.3 million debut in China, in Mexico ($40.4 million), Russia $34.8 million, the U.K. ($25.7 million) and Brazil $24.2 million. The movie will premiere in Japan on July 4.

Though the Wold Cup Event is currently happening, Maleficent and other new movies: "Think Like a Man," "22 Jump Street" and "How to Train Your Dragon" 2, have also started rocking the theaters woldwide.

Upcoming movies of Jolie are "Kung Fu Panda" 3, which will be released in 2015 and "Salt 2."

Jolie will voice the character of"Tigress" in "Kung Fu Panda" 3 movie and the franchise movie "Salt" 2, will revolve on the the story of a former Russian spy who switches sides to save the U.S.(source: au.ibtimes)
