It all happened Estádio das Dunas, Natal during the match between Uruguay and Italy. Uruguay striker, Luis Suarez, was into a commotion with the Italian defender, Giorgio Chiellini. He has been accused by the latter of biting him on his shoulder. He has once again put his name in the spotlight not as an emerging striker but rather for his infamous act of biting competitors during the games.

The first time Suarez bit someone was in 2010. He was playing for Ajax with a score of 0-0. A commotion surrounded the referee and for some unknown reason, he sunk his teeth to Otman Bakkal's left shoulder.

In a post interview from Suarez he said "These are just things that happen out on the pitch. It was just the two of us inside the area and he bumped into me with his shoulder, and that's how my eye got like this as well." He then added "There are things that happen on the pitch and you should not make such a big deal out of them."

FIFA was not happy with the situation and was quick to respond saying "We will gather all the necessary elements in order to evaluate the matter." But aside from those words, a specific time or date was not given as to when they would be able to give their decision on the matter. On a separate interview, a FIFA spokesman said with regards to the incidence "We are awaiting the official match reports and will gather all the necessary elements in order to evaluate the matter"

Giorgio Chiellini was furious over the confrontation. The Italian was still complaining about the bite even when Diego Godin has secured a goal for Uruguay.

When interviewed on Rai TV, Chiellini said "It was ridiculous not to send Suarez off. t is clear, clear-cut, and then there was the obvious dive afterwards because he knew very well that he did something that he shouldn't have done."

Suarez vehemently denied the accusation. His coach, Oscar Tabarez, backed him up on his defense saying he didn't not see the incident happened and protested that his striker was falsely accuse and persecuted.
