‘Pitch Perfect 2’ Cast Gets Even Better; A Cappella Sensation Pentatonix Joins

The cast of "Pitch Perfect 2" is being revealed one by one and we have to say, so far, the additions have been impressive.

Pentatonix, the five-person a cappella group that won the third season of NBC's 'The Sing-Off," has joined the cast of the upcoming sequel, according to Entertainment Weekly.

The band revealed to the publication that they will be playing a rival group to the Barden Bellas.

The members of Pentatonix, Scott Hoying, Mitch Grassi, Avi Kaplan, Kirstie Maldonado and Kevin Olusola, recently spent a 12-hour day on set in Baton Rouge, Louisiana for "Pitch Perfect 2."

"We're wearing some pretty interesting things. You can definitely tell it's the five of us, but what we're wearing and who we're portraying is definitely not Pentatonix," stated Hoying.

Grassi added, "You're going to love it."

The group reportedly became involved with the highly anticipated film through Deke Sharon, who arranged music on both "The Sing-Off" and "Pitch Perfect," and a publicist who coordinated Pentatonix's performance at the original "Pitch Perfect" premiere.

Fans also contributed by tweeting producers to cast the members in the new film, Olusola told the entertainment website.

Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, Brittany Sno, Skyla Astin and Adam DeVine will be returning for the sequel as well.

Danish actress Birgitte Hjort Sorensen has also been added to the cast of the upcoming film, which is set to be released on May 15, according to Deadline.

Sorensen will most likely be playing a member of a competing a cappella group alongside recently cast German YouTube star Flula Borg.
