"Game of Thrones" season 5 spoilers are up and it appears that Lady Stoneheart won't be part of the premiere at all as Michelle Fairley, who played Lady Catelyn Stark, said that the character's dead.
In a report by Forbes, which revealed major "Game of Thrones" season 5 spoilers, showrunners David Benioff and DB Weiss seem to have written off Lady Stoneheart from the HBO hit show altogether, which would be a huge departure from George R.R. Martin's "A Song of Fire and Ice" novel series.
In the "Storm of Swords," George R.R. Martin introduced a character named Lady Stoneheart, a vengeful "zombiefied" version of Lady Stark who is seeking revenge on the Freys for the events of the Red Wedding. She was reincarnated with the help of the Lord of the Light and Beric Dondarrion.
Although, Lady Stoneheart could't speak because her throat was slashed at the Red Wedding, she's equally dangerous.
"But now there's word that the show might be making its biggest cut yet, unless the following information is meant to be intentionally misleading," the publication said.
Paul Tassi wrote at Forbes that perhaps the showrunners are now thinking of having Sansa Stark take revenge on the Freys. But whether or not Lady Stoneheart will come back, he is certain that George R. R. Martin knew of this beforehand.
Michelle Fairley dished out "Game of Thrones" season 5 spoilers when she spoke with Entertainment Weekly in explaining why Lady Stoneheart did not appear on season 4 finale like the fans expected.
"Yeah, the character's dead. She's dead," Fairley said. "You respect the writers' decision. They can't stick to the books 100 percent."
She added: "It's impossible - they only have 10 hours per season. They have got to keep it dramatic and exciting, and extraneous stuff along the way gets lost in order to maintain the quality of this brilliant show."
