Heigl is back!
According to Yahoo News, the actress is hoping to make a serious comeback with her new TV series in NBC's 'State of Affairs'.
She told Marie Claire U.K. about some of her damaging career choices that left her angry at the industry.
"This thing that was my best friend for a long time suddenly turned on me," she said of the Hollywood machine.
"And I didn't expect it. I was taken by surprise and angry at it for betraying me." she added.
The 35-year-old actress may have felt betrayed and it also seemed she appeared that she bit the hand that fed her, leading her to earn a bad reputation in showbiz.
She was publicly criticized the show that made her red hot in Hollywood, Grey's Anatomy, by bashing the writing.
After the 2007 hit Knocked Up, Heigl took the rom-com route which said to be understatement. She also starred in 27 Dresses, The Ugly Truth, Killers, Life as We Know It, and One for the Money. Sadly, each of these movies are commercially less successful than the one that came before. When she ended her run on Grey's Anatomy in 2010, Ashton Kutcher flop Killers occured.
She played supporting roles in New Year's Eve and The Big Wedding. She left showbiz for awhile to spend time with her family. She and her husband Josh Kelley adopted daughters: Naleigh in 2009 and Adalaide in 2012, soon, she reevaluates her career goals.
She wasn't ready to quit acting just yet and now, her comeback will be in State of Affairs where she plays a CIA analyst. She said during the interview with Yahoo,
"There's a part of me that's a Hollywood animal as well. I can't wait to get into the writer's room and see how we do this," she explained. "I feel like I'm finally rolling into the next phase of my adulthood."
