World Cup 2018 Will Still Be In Russia, We Don't Believe In Terrorism –FIFA

Fifa has no intention of cancelling the World Cup 2018 in Russia, amid the allegations of the involvement of its citizens in the shooting down of a Malaysia Airlines flight over Ukraine in the past week.

Fifa believes that the public, especially the European Union, should approach the problem in a more positive way. They said that it is better for Russia to host the upcoming World Cup, than to isolate it from the world.

"History has shown so far that boycotting sport events or a policy of isolation or confrontation are not the most effective ways to solve problems," they said. The World Cup "can be a powerful catalyst for constructive dialogue between people and governments."

They find no use in the proposed relocation of the World Cup.

Russian Sports Minister Vitaly Mutko said that a World Cup in the country "can be a force for good."

"FIFA believes this will be the case for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

"So there's no sense in reacting to politicians trying to make names for themselves," referring to the German politicians urging Fifa to cancel the World Cup 2018 in Russia. "We're preparing in a calm way, building facilities, getting ready for the World Cup."

Also, Sepp Blatter, FIFA head, has said that he is not listening to the calls to strip off Russia in the upcoming tournament.

"The World Cup has been given and voted to Russia and we are going forward with our work," Blatter said, months ago.

"FIFA has stated many times that sport should be outside politics," Mutko said. "Hosting an event like this, we're doing it for athletes from all over the world, for footballers, for the fans."

There were also issues in the preparation of the World Cup in Brazil this year, but this year's tournament has proved itself to be one of the best yet, despite of the transportation, lodging, corruption, and social issues.
