Jermaine Kearse may become lock for Seattle Seahawks

Jermaine Kearse story may seem like rags to riches as it would appear like he may get lock for Seattle Seahawks after being undrafted. The 24 year old wide receiver was the only player who to have scored a touchdown in the Super Bowl. After being an undrafted free agent, Kearse now has a chance to land a lock for the Seahawks.

Kearse sat on a podium during a charity event which included other prominent stars such as Kobe Bryant, Richard Sherman as well as Grammy award winning singers Macklemore. All the other personalities where answering question thrown to them by the media but it seems like no question went out to the less known Jermaine Kearse.

Kearse joked "They kept naming everyone and they skipped me. That was messed up."

Although the humble athlete is not quite popular with the crowd what's important is that he is making a name for himself in the NFL. According to him "I just try and take every year as a new year in just trying to make the team again. Don't like getting complacent"

Looking back at his last season's performance, Kearse made two of the biggest catches during Seattle's Super Bowl run. He had received a big role last season but when Sidney Rice tore an ACL, he had to manage a bigger role for the team.

He said "''Sid even came up to me after that, he came up to me and said, 'This is your opportunity. Go out there and do the best that you can, make your plays when they come to you,' and that shows you the type of group that we have. Especially with Sid, he was one of my really good friends, not just a teammate. Just to have that conversation with him and for him to tell me to go out there and ball. I took that in and tried to do the best that I could."

This season has opened a lot of doors of opportunity for Kearse saying "I think it's just trying to set myself up for bigger things. I'm just trying to be the best I can. A lot of people try and label me as a No. 3 or No. 4 receiver. I'm trying to take it further than that."
