Lightning strike Venice beach kills one person and injures several others on Sunday. It looks a sunny day on the beach took a dark turn last Sunday.

A man who was in his mid-20s reportedly died at the hospital after he was transported from the lightning strike Venice beach location, according to the statement of John Kades of the Los Angeles Coroner's office. He stated that it was far too early to determine whether he died as a result of the lightning strike Venice beach, drowning, or being trampled by the panicking crowd.

The lightning strike Venice beach hit the water at 2:51 p.m., as reported by Katherine Main, the spokesperson of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

There were at least 13 patients, all of whom were either swimming in the water or near the shoreline. They were immediately assessed on the scene. Seven adults and a teenager were quickly brought to various local hospitals. As reported by some witnesses, a man had to be pulled out of the water, but it is still unclear if this was the same man who died later.

One of the patients who were brought to the hospital was listed to be in serious condition on the afternoon of Sunday. The remaining six patients were categorized as fair.

Los Angeles' National Weather Services tweeted at around the same time the lightning strike Venice beach that "cloud to ground lightning" had been reported near Marina Del Rey and also at the Los Angeles International Airport. The tweet said, "Stay indoors if you hear thunder until it passes."

Witnesses also tweeted that they spotted a huge bolt of lightning strike Venice beach. In fact, a Twitter user even described that there was an explosion that blew off nearby roof tiles.

Venice beach, where the lightning strike Venice beach took place, is actually located at the southern portion of Santa Monica. It is internationally renowned for its carnival-like atmosphere along its long boardwalk.
