Dan Hardy wants to Fight Diego Sanchez

UFC welterweight Dan Hardy has been gaining raves with his second profession which is as a television commentary. But he still is not letting go of his first love which is fighting inside the octagon.

Hardy was diagnosed with Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome. His diagnosis came in prior to his scheduled fight last April 20 with Matt Brown on the UFC on Fox 7 card. According to Hardy "It's called Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome, but I don't have the syndrome because I've never had any symptoms. I only have the pattern, which means I have a second heart beat, but it's never caused a problem."

According to Hardy, he has already consulted doctors from UFC UK and they said that it is not much of an issue. He said "It's just a case of going through the right tests and seeing the right cardiologists, guys that aren't going to make a buck out of selling an operation to me. And that's really where I am at the moment, particularly with the U.S. doctors. They're trying to sell me a car, and I don't need it."

But he is not letting his diagnosis get in the way of his UFC career as now; he knows who he wants to fight next when he gets back inside the ring. It has been two years already since Hardy's last fight and when he returns he wants to face Diego Sanchez.

Hardy stated his reason for fighting Sanchez as "Diego Sanchez, because after Ross Pearson got robbed, that was one of the worst decisions I've ever seen."

He added "Ross Pearson won that fight clearly, and Diego accepted the win like he does...he's as crazy as he is. I'm a huge Diego fan, but for me, he is what's wrong with mixed martial arts right now. He is the 20th century bullheaded martial artist that walks forward and fights with their face, and now we've got guys like ... Conor McGregor, we've got Gunnar Nelson; they've all got this very Machida-esque style where they're very mobile; they can switch stances, and they can hit with power from anywhere."

He ended his statement with "I think Diego represents the old school, where you just walk forward in a boxing stance and see who falls over first."
