With the new AMC show coming to its finale, Joe MacMillan (Lee Pace) faces new rivals but even bigger problems within their own team. Read on for 'Halt And Catch Fire' season 1 spoilers.

In episode nine, Joe (and viewers) were left reeling after a new rival unveiled an invention that not only surpassed Joe and Gordon's (Scoot McNairy) product, but would (eventually in real life) change the course of the personal computer revolution.

After Hunt Whitmarsh (Scott Michael Foster) used Donna (Kerry Bishé) to gain some insiders information on her husband Gordon, he then brought along Joe's new adversaries, Apple, to the Vegas Convention and their innovative new product, The Macintosh. With only one more episode left for this season, this new conflict seems like a perfect setup for the next season.

If there will be a next season. AMC has not yet renewed the new show for a second season despite its growing audience.

Lee Pace himself admitted to TVLine that he is still “itching” to find out what would to him in the future, which inlcudes a possible casting in 'Hannibal' and a return as Joe MacMillan.

With reports of the 'Halt And Catch Fire' season 1 spoilers, the show should hold for at least one more season. Viewers are eager to see how Joe will rise up against the Apple debacle.

The synopsis for episode ten suggests another internal conflict brewing with another suspicious glitch occurring with the Giant. With Joe basically telling Cameron (Mackenzie Davis) to leave last episode, the future of the Cardiff Giant is in danger.

As Alan Sepinwall says in his HitFix review of the series, “At the end of the episode [nine], Joe gets a look at an early demo of the first Apple Macintosh, and the dismay on his face is that of a man who thought he was a visionary before realizing he's just another hack.”

This epiphany could well serve as a catalyst for Joe to create a more innovative system in the next season. However, there's still one episode left for season one. With all these 'Halt and Catch Fire' season 1 spoilers being thrown around, who knows what would happen in the finale? Viewers are still hoping for the show to be renewed by AMC.

The 'Halt And Catch Fire' finale '1984' will air on August 3, Sunday, at 10pm EDT on AMC.
