Cristiano Ronaldo's grand entrance to the football scene from his knee injury may be against his former English team, Manchester United.
Carlo Ancelotti, Real Madrid coach, has said that his star player Ronaldo may be well enough to play in a friendly against Man Untd in Detroit this Saturday.
The Portugal captain is already seen training with the team this week, and in one interview he said that he is ready to win trophies for Real Madrid again.
"He [Ronaldo] did two sessions today and he is working well on his own," Ancelotti told the press after the Spanish club's friendly defeat to Roma last Tuesday. The game was held at the International Champions Cup in Dallas.
"Let's see if in the next few days he can train with the team and can play against Manchester," added the coach. "We have to be careful, right now we have to be calm."
It can be remembered that Ronaldo played horribly during the World Cup in Brazil, where the Portugal national football club has failed to get past the group stage. It was blamed on Ronaldo's knee injury, and it is foreseen to be fully- healed now.
When asked about the transfer market, Ancelotti said: "We have to think about the players who are at Real Madrid at the moment."
"The market ends on August 31 and a lot of things could happen but we have to focus on those [players] that we have."
Real Madrid, like Barcelona, has been collecting football superstars this summer. They have managed to sign James Rodriguez of Colombia and Toni Kroos of the World Cup winners Germany. The coach also said that there might be more purchases before the closing of the market. There are rumours that Real are making moves to hire Costa Rica goalkeeper Keylor Navas.
