Robert Pattinson is finally opening up about his ex-girlfriend, actress Kristen Stewart.
In a new interview with Esquire UK, the 28-year-old actor explained why he and his "Twilight" co-star broke up.
"Shit happens, you know?" Pattinson told the magazine. "It's just young people... it's normal! And honestly, who gives a shit?"
The two actors first met on the set of their movie, "Twilight," and had been enjoying romantic bliss for several years. That is until two years ago, when a cheating scandal involving Stewart and "Snow White and the Huntsman" director Rupert Sanders rocked many of the young couple's fans.
Pattinson and Stewart have clearly moved on from the drama, but the British actor admitted that he's still in the dark why people and paparazzi remain so fascinated with his personal life.
"Whenever I see a bunch of paparazzi hanging out, I always think, 'Oh God, what have they found out!' Oh, that love child! I totally forgot!" Pattinson told the magazine.
The "Map to the Stars" said he tries to have a normal mindset, despite being constantly hounded by the media and paparazzi.
"There was a time, three years ago, when I didn't know where to live where I wouldn't be trapped in my home, you know? But I worked it out. It's not that big a deal in the end," Pattinson said. "Half of it is in your head."
In fact, the hunky star would always go back to the days when he first started in Hollywood.
"I remember when it happened," he told the publication. "I was going to clubs in L.A. and you had to call the promoters ahead of time to get on the guest list. But one time I forgot to call, and I was on the list anyway. That's when I knew. I showed up with mustard down my T-shirt and they're like giving me the wink, 'Yeah, man, you're on the list.'"
