Returning UFC Players Anderson Silva and Nick Diaz will face each other in January

A lot of fighters are making a comeback for the UFC stage. Two of the organizations prominent fighter are slated to comeback in 2015 and will be facing each other this coming January 31. These fighters are no other than former middleweight champion Anderson Silva and Nick Diaz. UFC President, Dana White personally made the announcement on ESPN's SportsCenterat 3 p.m. PT. Silva's manager, Ed Soares confirmed that they met with the UFC president in Beverly Hills, Calif., for lunch on Tuesday.

According to Soares "As soon as we got out of the meeting, Anderson was like a little kid because he was so excited to be back. He's worked very hard to get to this point [where he's capable of returning]."

Silva was away from the limelight for 13 months after his last fight caused him a horrific leg injury. On the other hand, it has been more than a year since Nick Diaz has fought inside the octagon. His last fight was with Georges St-Pierre which was a title fight in Montreal on March 16, 2013 where he lost via unanimous decision.

Soares has said that Silva is in top shape right after his leg surgery. A rod has been implanted and that the fighter has been looking good in training. He said "To be honest with you, I think he'll be back and what you'll see will be the Anderson of old."

He continued "People worrying about the layoff or whatever, well, first of all, they've both been out quite a while, so there is no advantage for either guy there. But this is Anderson Silva we're talking about, not just any [nearly] 40-year-old. He's looked amazing and believes me when I tell you, this will be the Anderson everyone has been used to seeing."

Alternatively, although Diaz has not fought for more than a year, he has been working out making sure that he us in top shape when he returns. He said "I've just been doing a whole lot of not getting punched around, type stuff. Hanging around. I've been staying in shape pretty good. Been doing a lot of running. It's been a good experience having that much time off."
