Former NBA Commissioner David Stern has lauded NBA for its smooth handling of the Donald Sterling issue. He believes that since a decision has been made, then it well definitely end well for the league.

Stern has described Adam Silvers management of the issue as "forceful" yet he was still able to demonstrate a"compassionate side" with regards to how he handled the racist remarks made the Sterling.

It can be remembered that NBA has banned Sterling for life as he has been found out on a recording telling his girlfriend to refrain from bringing African-American friends to games. The racist comment received an ire from NBA fans, players and heads which caused him a fine worth $2.5 million as well as an immediate push to force him into selling the Clippers. For the record, Sterling denies the allegation of him being a racist.

According to Stern "''He's done great. He has been forceful, he has been reflective, he has been buttoned-down and I think he has also demonstrated a compassionate side as well. ''So I think it's going to end well."

Because of the incident, Silver has fined Sterling worth $2.5 million and had him banned for life. After which his wife, Shelly Sterling had made an agreement with former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer to sell their team, the LA Clippers, for $2 billion. Donald filed a case to cancel the sale but the court sided with his wife and had the transaction pushed through even if Donald will file for a motion.

Stern worked as the commissioner for NBA for 30 years. He retired last February and will be enshrined into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame next week. He remains as an advisor for the league.

Stern says of Silver "''Adam has been a part of the fabric of every important decision and event for the last 22 years. ''He knows exactly what to do, he's done mostly everything, and he's continuing his run as being a terrific manager."

Although the issue of selling is already over, Donald Sterling still has lawsuits against Silver and the league. The new season of the NBA will start with the LA Clippers having a new owner.
