The possibility of seeing Kevin Love wearing the Cleveland uniform is high. This is according to Minnesota Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor as he informed the St. Paul Pioneer Press. According to Taylor the possibility of the trade will most likely happen on Aug 23 or 24. He said "I'm saying it's most likely because Kevin has made it pretty clear that that's what he wants to do."
It can be remembered that the Timberwolves is in talks with other NBA Team including the Cleveland Cavaliers with regards to trading Love. On the other hand, Love has already said to his team that he will be leaving them next season through free agency if the trade won't push through. For Cleveland's case, they won't be able to make deals with Andrew Wiggins, the teams No1 Pick, until Aug 23 as Wiggins has already signed his rookie contract with the Cavaliers.
No1 draft Rookie Andrew Wiggins was signed to the Cavaliers in a four year contract last July 24. NBA rules stipulated says that rookies must wait at least 30 days after they sign before they are eligible to be traded.
Wiggins has commented with regards to the trade in saying "I just want to play for a team that wants me. So whichever team wants me I'll play for. At the end of the day you have to remember that the NBA is a business before anything. I'm a rookie. I really don't have too much say."
If the trade in does happen, Timberwolves most likely obtain Sixers power forward Thaddeus Young to replace Love.
Taylor said ""I think when you move somebody like Kevin, who's been an All-Star, that you've got to get a number of players on your team that have the potential of replacing him. Flip (Saunders, team president and coach) has looked at this team and offensively, he's got a pretty good team. Defensively, it's got to be better, so I think that's where some of the areas will be replaced."
ESPN.com has reported that Love is also interested in playing with now Cavaliers star player LeBron James so there is really a great chance for the deal to push through.
