Olivia Wilde is a nursing mother, and she's not shy to show it.
The 30-year-old actress posed for a fashion shoot for Glamour magazine's September issue while breastfeeding her son, Otis, now 3 months.
In the photo shot by famed fashion photographer Patrick Demarchelier, Wilde can be seen sitting in a classic diner in feathered Roberto Cavalli dress and towering Prada heels. The focus, however, was not on her dress but on the actress who had her right breast exposed as she cradles and nurses her son.
"Being shot with Otis is so perfect because any portrait of me right now isn't complete without my identity as a mother being a part of that," Wilde told Glamour. "Breastfeeding is the most natural thing."
The actress and her fiancé, Jason Sudeikis, welcomed their son on April 20.
"I don't know, now it feels like Otis should always be on my breast," Wilde said. "It felt like we were capturing that multifaceted woman we've been discussing - that we know we can be. You can be someone who is at once maternal and professional and sexy and self-possessed. [But] I mean, I certainly don't really look like that when I'm [typically] breastfeeding. And there's usually a diaper involved."
Wilde joined the ranks of other celebrities, such as models Gisele Bundchen and Miranda Kerr, actress Jaime Pressly and musician Gwen Stefani, who have no qualms in putting their breastfeeding moments in the spotlight.
The brunette lady also revealed during the interview that she didn't have any hesitations about being a new mother, which she admitted can clash with her work.
"My mom is such a badass working mother. That inspired me when I was pregnant. I wasn't going to sacrifice myself because I was becoming a mother," Wilde said.
Meanwhile, despite being a happy family of three, Wilde said she and Sudeikis are in no rush to walk down the aisle.
"We are fully committed and really happy as a family. And there's no definition of the 'normal family' anymore. Kids today are growing up with so many different definitions of family," Wilde told the magazine.
