Sherri Shepherd Latest News: The former "The View" TV show host reported used one of her final episodes to announce where she's going after her stint in ABC's morning show. According to Variety, the comedienne will star as the wicked Stepmother in Broadway's musical version of the "Cinderella" by Rodgers and Hammerstein.
Aside from jumping to Broadway, Shepherd has several new projects that are in line. According to Deadline, Sherri Shepherd is joining the cast of Universal's Ride Along 2 to be directed by Tim Story. Shepherd has signed a role opposite Ice Cube and Kevin Hart.
The movie is a sequel of 2014's hit comedy Ride Along. The movie is set for release on January 15, 2016 produced by Ice Cube, Matt Alvarez, Will Packer, and Larry Brezner and exec producer Scott Bernstein. Shepherd will be joined by Ken Jeong and Olivia Munn in the movie.
In addition to her seven-year stay with The View, Shepherd recently had a recurring role on CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother. Her TV comedy credits include Everybody Loves Raymond, 30 Rock, Hot In Cleveland, and her own Lifetime sitcom Sherri.
"You know I'm a woman of faith, and seven is the number of God's completion. I've been here seven years, and my time with 'The View' is complete. I'm going to forever be grateful to Barbara Walters and (producer) Bill Geddie for taking a chance on an actress and making me learn things, helping me step out of my comfort zone. They gave me a chance," Shepherd stated regarding her leaving The View.
"I love the cast and crew. They made me feel like this is my family. Thank you. Thank you," Shepherd said extending her gratitude.
After she served her time with "The View," Shepherd will also be seen in Chris Rock's upcoming Toronto Film Fest dramedy Top Five.
