US Star goalkeeper Tim Howard will be taking a one year break from playing with the US National Team. Howard who shoots to stardom after accumulating 16 saves in one game. This happened during their match against Belgium in the 2014 FIFA World Cup. According to ESPN, Howards has accumulated 24 total saves for USA at this year's World Cup which is the most number of saves done by a player in the tournament history.

Howard said that he is taking a break because of a ''commitment'' to his family. He has his U.S. coach Jurgen Klinsmann to cut him off the roster until September 2015. On the other hand, he will continue to play for Everton in the English Premier League.

He said "Having played overseas for the last 12 years and missing out on spending time with my family, making this commitment to my family is very important at this time. It's the right decision at the right time. Jurgen has always been up front with all the players in saying you have to earn your place, which is something I agree with. So I look forward to coming back next fall and competing for a spot."

Howard has made an appearance at three World Cups. He is the National Team's lead goalkeeper in both appearances (104) and wins (55). He has played in every game for his last two World Cup appearances.

According to Klinsmann "I totally understand Tim's situation. He was very straightforward and honest in his approach, and I admire him for that."

He added "'I told him as long as he is the same Tim Howard that we always see performing well, he will be welcome back with open arms and right back competing for a spot. He knows that he has to prove that he deserves to be back."

Howard will be replaced by backup goalkeeper Brad Guzan. Guzan plays in the EPL for Aston Villa. Howards rest means an open opportunity for aspiring goalkeeper. This is their chance to prove themselves.

Klinsmann said "Always when somebody steps aside for a moment. 'it gives an opportunity for the next ones in line."
