Comedienne Joan Rivers passed away yesterday at the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York at the age of 81, according to Fox News.
The legendary TV icon had given a very detailed picture of what she'd like her funeral to be like in her 2012 book "I Hate Everyone. . . Starting With Me."
"When I die (and yes, Melissa, that day will come; and yes, Melissa, everything's in your name), I want my funeral to be a huge showbiz affair with lights, cameras, action ... I want Craft services, I want paparazzi and I want publicists making a scene! I want it to be Hollywood all the way. I don't want some rabbi rambling on; I want Meryl Streep crying, in five different accents. I don't want a eulogy; I want Bobby Vinton to pick up my head and sing 'Mr. Lonely.' I want to look gorgeous, better dead than I do alive. I want to be buried in a Valentino gown and I want Harry Winston to make me a toe tag. And I want a wind machine so that even in the casket my hair is blowing just like Beyonce's," wrote Rivers.
Despite her wishes for her funeral to be "a huge showbiz affair," her sendoff will be much more private.
Rivers' funeral will be at New York City's Temple Emanu-El on Sunday, according to her publicist. The Upper East Side temple does not hold open-casket services due to Jewish tradition, according to the synagogue.
"It is a terribly sad day for all of us. We mourn with her family, friends and all those millions to whom she brought laughter and joy," Joshua M. Davidson, Senior Rabbi, Congregation Emanu-El of the City of New York told FOX411 in a statement.
Yorkville Endoscopy, the clinic Joan Rivers was at during her procedure on August 28 when she stopped breathing and went into cardiac arrest, is reportedly being investigated by the Department of Health. The NYC Medical Examiner's Office is reportedly also investigating Rivers' death.
The clinic has hired additional security after receiving death threats from Rivers' fans, according to TMZ.
"If Joan dies, so will you. I hope you people die, you killed an icon," one of the threats read, according to the entertainment website.
