With such a successful run in each of its seasons, the zombie themed TV show Walking Dead is now one of those shows with the most devoted following. It's no wonder then that AMC will want to capitalize on the show's staggering popularity by developing a companion series to their zombie apocalypse series. The Walking Dead spinoff 2015 has just been confirmed by the network. And what's more, the pilot episode is already being planned, and is slated to commence production late this year.
This brand new season of the zombie thriller promises more adventures and scares for Ricky, Daryl, Carol, and the rest of the gang. And from the looks of the show's trailer, we will probably be seeing one of the most horrific moments that comic book readers already know is going to happen.
That being said, there are still many angles that can be explored and given their own full treatment. Which is exactly what the Walking Dead Spinoff 2015 hopes to explore. "There are many corners of The Walking Dead universe that remains unseen in the shadows. Being given the opportunity to shine a light into those corners and see what lurks out there is an absolute thrill. I know the fans are anxious to hear what Dave [Erickson] and I have been cooking up for this new universe of The Walking Dead, and I'm happy to be one step closer to sharing it with them," show creator Robert Kirkman said.
This yet untitled Walking Dead spinoff 2015 will be weaving a brand new story, and fans will be meeting a new set of characters that are all based on the comic series that Kirkman has created.
"Almost from the beginning of The Walking Dead on AMC, fans have been curious about what is going on in the zombie apocalypse in other parts of the world. In fact, beyond requests for zombie cameos, it's the question I get asked the most," said Charlie Collier, AMC president.
But beyond these details, little is known about the Walking Dead spinoff 2015, but we'll be on top of it once information is released. Stay tuned!
