Luckily, there is still sunshine amidst the rain that the Orioles are experiencing right now after they had won against the Yankees with a 2-1 right at the 11th inning.

Recently, the Orioles are currently crippled with the loss of Davis as aside from him, a couple of the players from the team are also out. Catcher Matt Wieters and third baseman Manny Machado are out for the season due to an injury. Davis has been suspended for 25 games which means that the team will be without him for the rest of the 17 games within the season as up to the post season and most probably up to the next.

According to right fielder Nick Markakis "Dwelling on this isn't going to do us any good. Today was a big win for us, and that's our standpoint."

But luck is on the Orioles side last Friday. The Baltimore Orioles were down 1-0 with their bases loaded against the New York Yankees for the third time during the fourth inning. The Orioles were denied twice before they were able to finally take advantage of their current situation.

Jimmy Paredes hit a two-run double with two outs in the 11th inning to rally Baltimore to a 2-1. According to Paredes "For me, I don't feel any pressure in the moment. I go to home plate to try to do my job."

After Chris Young homered in the top of the 11th, Baltimore countered in the bottom half against Adam Warren. Warren contemplated "To see us get that home run and us get the lead, then give it back like that, it's extremely frustrating for me."

The same sentiments were also felt by Yankees Manager Joe Girardi "You get the home run and a chance to catch some momentum after the way we won last night, it's frustrating."

Yankees starting pitcher Brandon McCarthy blanked Baltimore on four hits over seven-plus innings but his efforts were not enough to keep the Orioles away from the win. He said "That kind of game you would love to win, where you grind and you grind and you pull it out in the end and gain some momentum."

The New York Yankees played last Friday without shortstop Derek Jeter who had an injury in his left elbow with a pitch on Thursday night.
