Choi Jun Hyuk is considering another drama before he enlists for his two-year mandatory military service. He's had several roles this year, including playing Lee Min Ho's older brother in "The Heirs," a divorced emergency room doctor in "Emergency Couple" and a designer in "Fated To Love You." And it seemed as if every role might be the last one he chose before he enlisted. He was scheduled to start his military duty as part of the police force on Aug. 20 but decided to cancel his acceptance. That means he is now on the list for active duty service, although he has not yet received an enlistment notice.
But before he goes he is considering another role. According to his agency, Red Brick House, this time he is considering a role in the upcoming drama "Pride and Prejudice."
It's not the "Pride and Prejudice" of Jane Austen, although Choi Jin Hyuk would make a handsome brooding Mr. Darcy. But it is also about how pride and prejudice can lead people to make the wrong kinds of decisions. And those decisions can be a matter of life and death.
This k-drama version of "Pride and Prejudice" is about district attorneys. And the courtroom is a place where pride and prejudice can be the enemies of justice.
The role he is considering is Goo Dong Chi, the chief prosecutor in the Incheon District Prosecutor's Office. It seems as if this might be a courtroom drama with a hint of the paranormal like "I Hear Your Voice." Goo Dong Chu is a character that keeps his feelings to himself but can guess what other people are thinking. There's no word on whether he just has strong intuition or he can actually read minds.
Actress Kim Ah Joong, who appeared in the drama "Steal My Heart" and the film "200 Pounds Beauty," is also considering a role in this drama. She is up for the role of junior prosecutor Han Yeol Moo.
A few weeks ago there was talk that Daniel Choi was also offered a role in the drama. It might have been the same role as there has been no confirmation from him.
Kim Jin Min, who worked on the drama "Time Between Wolf and Dog" will direct. Lee Hyun Joo, who wrote "School 2013," will write the screenplay. The Monday-Tuesday drama is scheduled to follow "The Night Watchmen" in October.
