Destiny PS3/Xbox 360 vs. PS4/Xbox One Review, MMOG Resembles 'Classic' Title, Clean Crisp Graphics, Sci-Fi/Fantasy Elements, Rated 3.5/5
Destiny released in September and gamers are taking to it as it were a 'classic title'.
When Bungie came out with Halo more than a decade ago, multiplayer shooters became popular and helped online multiplayer shooters gain recognition.
Apart from being a multiplayer shooter like Halo, Destiny is different in that it is classified under MMOG or massively multiplayer online game. And this is something that Bungie has not entered into.
An example of fast selling MMOG is the World of Warcraft, a special breed of video games set apart for PCs.
According to The Reno Gazette Journal , Destiny seems to lack some factors that super games have, but on the whole but the game is definitely something that can pave the way for future Shooter/MMOG games. Reno gave Destiny 3.5/5 rating.
Brandon Blicharz writes for Gamerheadlines, "After playing Destiny for a good 6 hours, I have to say, I'm very pleased with the game overall. Its graphics are very clean and crisp, it plays well in terms of FPS, and it stays interesting over long periods of time. I also had no problems with the servers the entire time I played. Seamless connection the whole time, and never got any network lag of any kind. Also didn't run into any bugs or glitches, which is very impressive for a game of this size. Overall, the game itself feels very polished, and can be called a full game."
A review by Youngherald.com said that though there were some repetitive elements in the game, the strengths of are its overall setting and also strange mix between sci-fi and fantasy elements. It is a beautiful looking game and gamers can see something stunning in it whether staring off into the vistas of Earth, Moon, Mars or Venus."
