Lee Min Ho is not one to rest on his laurels. After finishing the mega-hit drama "The Heirs' and wrapping up his first film "Gangnam Blues," the popular actor returned to the recording studio to work on a new album.
According to his management, Starhaus Entertainment," The actor will release his second full-length album some time in Oct. 2014.
"Lee Min Ho is set to release his second album 'Song For You' in October," said a Starhaus representative.
Lee Min Ho's first album, titled "My Everything" was released in 2013 and featured the lead single "Love Motion." This time he will try something different.
"The purpose of this album is not to make a debut as a singer but as a response to the fans who have made repeated requests for a new song and it was made differently from the first one as well."
According to Starhaus, the album is more pop rock than Lee Min Ho's first album. And they say it will highlight the actor's "delicate expression of emotion, which is expected to move fans' hearts."
It was not easy for the actor to make the transition into a singer. He never thought he had much talent. Although he has admitted to singing in the shower, singing before a live audience made him shy. But he eventually decided to treat his performances as any other acting job. He wanted to communicate with his fans and singing for his fans seemed to please them.
The number of his fans keeps growing. Lee Min Ho's Asian popularity grew dramatically after he appeared in the k-drama "Boys Over Flowers' as the spoiled chaebol Gu Jun Pyo. And it has only continued to grow after he appeared in such hit dramas as "Personal Taste," "City Hunter" and "Faith: The Great Doctor."
The actor is now one of the best-known celebrities in Asia with more than 15 million likes on his Facebook page.
He has plans to meet up with more of his Asian fans.
Lee Min Ho will hold a "Re:minho" fan meeting in Beijing in Oct. 4. Next he heads to Tokyo, to tour on Oct. 12 and 13. At both fan meetings he will perform songs from his new album.
His 2013 fan meetings were held in eight Asian cities and sold more than 50,000 tickets. Future tours will be listed on his official homepage at www.leeminho2014.com.
The actor's first film "Gangnam Blues" is expected to premiere in December.
