‘Royal Concubine’ Tops Box Office

Film 'Royal Concubine' maintained the number one position at the box office for three days straight.

According to an integrated network concerning cinema tickets on the 9th, 'Royal Concubine' placed first at the daily box office on the 8th with 136,578 tickets sold. The cumulative audience total was 601,812, as the film gathered well over 500,000 people within three days of its release.

'Royal Concubine' is an erotic historical film of changing Hwa Yeon (Jo Yeo Jung) in the royal palace, man who loses everything Kwon Yoo (Kim Min Joon), and powerless king Sung Won Dae Gun (Kim Dong Wook). Director Kim Dae Seung of 'Bungee Jumping of Their Own' directed the film.

Jo Yeo Jung, who first attempted a revealing role in 'The Servant,' has once again dived into a scandalous role, receiving anticipation before the film's release.

The popularity of 'Royal Concubine' seems endless as it maintains the number one spot, beating Hollywood films 'Prometheus,' 'Madagascar 3,' and 'Men in Black 3.'

Other films dominating the Korean daily box office include second place 'Everything about My Wife' with 66,616 tickets sold, third place 'Prometheus' with 60,974, and fourth place 'Men in Black 3' with 45,377.
