It was just announced that the film '26 Years' will feature Lim Seulong, Jin Gu, and Han Hye Jin as the lead roles. This will be the director Jo Geun Hyun's first movie.
'26 Years' is a period piece regarding the Gwangju Massacre, which occurred on May 18th of 1980. It focuses on those who were involved, and the punishments coming to the perpetrators 26 years after the incidents that happened during the Gwangju Democratization Movement.
2AM's Lim Seulong, for whom this will be the second film to act in, will play a policeman named Kwon Jung Hyuk. Han Hye Jin was cast as Shim Mi Jin, who embodies the role of a national archer. Jin Gu, on the other hand, will play a gangster named Kwak Jin Bae, a victim whose father was murdered in the Gwangju Massacre. Kwak Jin Bae will be bent on vengeance, portraying a passionate wrath caused by the happenings of the Massacre.
For Lim Seulong, '26 Years' is the first time he will take on a lead role in a film. Although he has acted in 'Acoustic', the singer has yet to perform as a male lead.
The film '26 Years' is scheduled to premiere later in November this year.
