Kim Hyun Joong is dominating the Japanese music scene.

The Korean artist's second Japanese single album 'HEAT', which was released on the 4th, topped the Oricon chart while selling 140,000 copies. This sales performance is nearly double of Kim Hyun Joong's Japanese debut album "KISS KISS/Lucky Guy", which sold 72,000 copies when released in January.

The 138,000 copies sold on the first day of the album's release sets a new record for foreign artists, surpassing the previous mark of 133,000 set by DBSK's "Why".

Making the record more meaningful was the fact that Kim Hyun Joong's record beat the domestic releases 'One Two Three' by Morning Musume and 'Love Chase' by Yamashita Tomohisa, both of which were released around the same time as 'HEAT'.

The album, which had garnered attention pre-release with the collaboration effort by Japanese musician B'z, includes the singles 'HEAT' and 'Let's Party' and has drawn positive reviews for Kim Hyun Joong's refreshing voice, upbeat rhythm and addictive melodies.

Meanwhile, Kim Hyun Joong is set to hold a fan meeting in Osaka on the 7th.
