What happened on "The Newsroom" last week?

On "Contempt," last Sunday's episode, "Will refuses to reveal the source of stolen government documents even though he could go to jail for contempt. Meanwhile, Sloan and Mac search for a last-minute buyer for ACN when Charlie's had it with Lucas; and Hallie's new job puts a strain on her relationship with Jim."

What should we look forward to for tonight's penultimate episode of the series (S03E05), as Will McAvoy (Jeff Daniels) goes to Jail? Warning: spoilers ahead!

According to the International Business Times, "With only two episodes left in HBO's "The Newsroom" before the end of the third and final season, things are reaching a boiling point. In episode 4, Will (Jeff Daniels) reported for prison time following a grand jury hearing where he refused a court order to reveal the name of Neal's (Dev Patel) source, but not before marrying Mackenzie (Emily Mortimer) in an impromptu ceremony. In episode 5, "Oh Shenandoah," the anchor will be stuck in prison while Charlie (Sam Waterston) deals with the consequences of ACN's sale to Lucas Pruit (B.J. Novak). According to the synopsis for the new episode, even in prison, the newly married Will refuses to give up the source's name. In the promo for the episode, Will gets into a discussion with a cell mate who posits that Will can get out any time he wants, but Will, taking his journalism ethics seriously, maintains that he can't give up the name.

"Meanwhile, back at ACN, there are plenty of problems. With Pruit now in charge of the company, Charlie must acquiesce to the new boss' demands to cater to younger viewers, including sending Don (Thomas Sadoski) out to investigate a college campus sexual-abuse case and plenty of other requests that have Charlie pretty worked up in the promo. There will also be some movement on the Jim (John Gallagher Jr.) and Maggie (Alison Pill) front. The two reporters will be stranded at an airport in Russia when they meet a man connected to NSA leaker Edward Snowden. They will try to get on the man's plane to Cuba to get more information. Will the experience finally rekindle the romance between the two journalists? Will Mackenzie find a way to get Will out of prison? And will Charlie be able to handle Pruit's new leadership," continues the IBT report.

Care for some more spoilers about the penultimate show that leads up to next week's series finale?

"There are only two episodes left on "The Newsroom" season 3 before the big finale airs on HBO, and with that in mind, there have to be questions about what is going to lie ahead for some of these characters. Fittingly, we at least have some more news regarding some of the people who have key roles to play throughout this upcoming installment. Per a new report coming in now via TV Guide, Jim and Maggie are going to be sent overseas in order to cover matters related to Edward Snowden, and in the process, are going to have a little bit of time to bond. Does this mean that the two characters could be closer to finally becoming something more? We're not writing it off. Meanwhile, Will McAvoy is going to find himself in a precarious position behind bars, as the battle between him and the government is still going strong while ACN may be bought up by someone new. There is a whole lot to unpack within this episode, and you do have to wonder whether or not the show is going to be able to pull off everything on its docket before this series concludes," continues Carter Matt.
