This week, Japanese Nationalists reportedly dissed the war film "Unbroken."
According to the reports, Hiromichi Moteki, secretary general of the Society for the Dissemination of Historical Fact said the movie is pure "fabrication."
"If there is no verification of the things he said, then anyone can make such claims. This movie has no credibility and is immoral," said by Japanese nationalist.
"Unbroken" is based on 2010 non-fiction novel "Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience and Redemption" written by Laura Hillenbrand.
Indiewire said that the story was inspired by the true story of an Olympic runner who survived a plane crash over the Pacific. Before he was able to go back home, he was first imprisoned in a Japanese prisoner-of-war camp and spent two and a half years.
"Unbroken" Japanese actor Miyavi (who is also a rockstar), appeared on Today Show alongside co-stars to talk about the importance of the film. Miyavi said and defended their director, "[Jolie] said she wanted to create something meaningful which could be a bridge between America and Japan," he said. "This is all about [Zamperini's] message: forgiveness and how strong a human being can be."
Jolie's war film U.S. release date is set for December 25, 2014.
