What happened on "Major Crimes" last week?

On "Trial By Fire," last Monday's episode, "A gang member is acquitted and released from custody, leading to criminal complications. Meanwhile, Rusty's crush visits the station."

What should we look forward to for tonight's Christmas themed episode? Warning: S03E15 spoilers ahead!

According to USA Today's Critics Corner, it's a top pick for Monday night viewing! "There's a Christmas connection to Major Crimes, as well, but it's not necessarily one that falls within the category of "holiday cheer." Turns out there's a Santa robbing banks, and just as the unit's about to catch him, he gets swallowed up in a Santa flash mob," writes USA Today.

"Major Crimes" creator James Duff previews tonight's episode in a press release, explaining "in our next episode, viewers will observe a flash mob of dancing St. Nick's, a curious bank robbery, exploding dye packs, dead Santas in the morgue - yes, plural - and a Christmas Village lit up inside the Major Crimes break room, all while our detectives surrender, once again, to the virtues of holiday overtime. Meanwhile, Captain Raydor valiantly battles to salvage a holiday party given in concert with all three of her children. And Lt. Provenza pushes the division along, desperate not to lose the deposit on his holiday package to Laguna. Hopes that we can hold our plans together are tested again and again - as people react in different ways to the improvisations required by this season of comfort and joy. We are told that nothing lasts forever, but mothers attempting to manage their disappointment at everything that goes wrong during the Christmas season might be close to eternal."

"Special thanks to our director, David McWhirter, who provides us with a little light before we plunge back into the darkness of our next four winter episodes, to Phillip P. Keene, for reasons that will become obvious...Next week, Lt. Andy Flynn attempts to stop a sex offender from jumping off a freeway overpass, with surprising results," concludes Duff.

It will certainly be interesting to see the rest of the season play out! Check out the "Chain Reaction" (S03E15) preview video (promo) here:
