Song Jae Rim and Kim So Eun may be the only "We Got Married" viewers who were surprised that they won a Best Couple award at the 2014 MBC Entertainment Awards. It came as no surprise to the viewers who voted for them or anyone who watched them play a couple on "We Got Married."
"I really didn't expect this," said Song Jae Rim.
But he should not have been surprised as the actors were considered the most popular couple to appear on the reality show "We Got Married." Viewer voting determined the award, so they were the natural choice for the prize.
Song Jae Rim described winning the Best Couple award as similar to getting a large cash advance that he was not certain he could pay back. But no one will expect him to. Fans have so enjoyed the chemistry between the two attractive and playful actors that it's enough of a reward.
"I don't know how to repay this," said Song Jae Rim. "Except to pay it back with a good and pretty image."
Hopefully that gratitude will translate into more romantic moments and sweet compliments from Song Jae Rim, who has called his co-star "stunning" and a "goddess." He also told her she was so pretty that he found it hard to talk to her. His generous displays of physical affection charmed his co-star and his viewers.
Kim So Eun was also humble about receiving the award.
"It hasn't been long since we started and I'm so apologetic about getting the couple award first," she said. "We will work harder to show a better image in the future. Thank you."
Two other "We Got Married" couples were also up for the Best Couple award. The competition included Nam Goong Min and Hong Jin Young and Hong Jong Hyun and Yura. Also in the competition was "Real Man" couple Park Gun Hyung with Henry and "Teaching Different Generation" couple Sung Si Kyung with Kim Sung Ryung. Besides appearing on "We Got Married," both actors have been busy with drama roles. Kim So Eun just finished playing a leading role in "The Liar Game" with co-stars Shin Sung Rok and Lee Sang Yoon. Song Jae Rim played a famous chef in "The Idle Mermaid." His other recent roles include playing an assassin in "Two Weeks," which starred Lee Jun Ki" and playing a royal bodyguard in "The Moon Embracing The Sun," which starred Kim Soo Hyun.
