Which actor will rule the box office this winter? It may come down to a box office battle between popular actors Lee Min Ho, Lee Seung Gi and Lee Min Ki.
When the actors are as popular as these three, it can be tough to call a winner in advance.
Lee Min Ho may have a slight edge, especially since he appeared in the popular drama "The Heirs," but Lee Seung Gi is also a fan favorite. Lee Seung Gi appeared in one of the most popular dramas in 2014, playing a detective in the police thriller "You're All Surrounded."
And then there is Lee Min Ki, the singer and actor who has enjoyed a loyal following since he appeared in the dramas "I Really, Really Like You" and "Dal-Ja's Spring."
All three are talented and easy on the eyes but the movies they were cast in are very different. There's a gangster drama, a comedy and a story about escaping the mental institution.
Lee Min Ho's film "Gangnam 1970" is a dark drama about corruption, gangs and land grabs in the as-yet-undeveloped Gangnam neighborhood in the 1970s. This movie will offer Lee Min Ho's fans a chance to see him in a rougher tougher role. The closest thing he has done in the past may be playing the avenging hero in the drama "City Hunter."
Lee Seung Gi is no stranger to romantic comedy. He displayed his talent for quirky romance in "My Girlfriend Is A Gumiho" when he played a man with a not-quite-human girlfriend. In "Today's Love," also known as "Love Forecast," he plays a man so eager to be in love that he does everything his girlfriends ask him but gets dumped anyway. His best friend, a weather forecaster played by Moon Chae Won, may turn out to be the woman he really needs.
Lee Min Ki plays a man whose family sends him to a mental hospital so they can steal his inheritance. There he befriends a young man suffering from guilt over his mother's suicide. The young man, played by Yeo Jin Goo, feels so guilty he becomes a model patient. But Lee Min Ki's character plots their escape.
Both Lee Min Ho and Lee Seung Gi will be making their movie debut with these films. Lee Min Ki has more than a dozen films on his resume.
