The 2011 Korean film “Blind” is the latest movie to be adapted for the Chinese market. Former EXO member Luhan was announced as a cast member along with Chinese actress Yang Mi.
“Blind” will mark the second film for Luhan, following his debut in “20 Once Again.” Luhan’s musical and acting talents were showcased through the film, even though he was in a supporting role.
“20 Once Again” was an adaptation of the 2014 Korean family comedy, “Miss Granny.” "20 Once Again" was heavily reliant on comedic timing but "Blind" will provide Luhan with the opportunity to fully explore his emotional range.
The Korean version of “Blind” starred Kim Ha Neul and Yoo Seung Ho. Both actors were catapulted into stardom by their roles in the film. “Blind” is a suspense thriller which was directed by Ahn Sang Hoon. ”Blind” focused on the story of Min Soo Ah, a police cadet who was involved in a tragic car accident which led to the death of her brother and resulted in the loss of her eyesight. Blind and off the police force, Soo Ah blames a taxi driver for the horrific accident. Her claims are ignored until a witness comes forth.
Luhan pursued an acting career in China, after departing from the group EXO. In October 2014, he allegedly filed a lawsuit to terminate his exclusive contract with SM Entertainment. He cited unfair treatment of the Chinese members of EXO-M versus the Korean members of EXO-K as a contributing factor for his departure. Former EXO member Kris departed from the group to pursue an acting career in China, prior to Luhan.
