Good news for G.I. Joe fans: the "G.I. Joe 3" cast of characters will feature a pair of villains very familiar to those who grew up with one of Hasbro's flagship franchise.

Mercenary twins Tomax and Xamot are reportedly pegged as the main villains in the third G.I. Joe movie, both serving as merchant bankers for the corporate front of Cobra Commander's army. As heads of Extensive Enterprises, the pair also leads Cobra's Crimson Guard.

Plans for the "G.I. Joe 3" cast of characters is already on the way, this time with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's Roadblock character taking on a more pivotal role in the story.

A handful of directors were tagged for the project but were eventually scrapped, but it's D.J. Caruso of "I Am Number Four" who's confirmed to direct.

Cobra Commander will still be the main villain in the series, but with several henchmen fronting his schemes. Twins Tomax and Xamot is a big nod to fans of the Hasbro franchise, especially with actual twins assuming the roles.

Identical twins are pretty scarce in Hollywood, but a few pairs can fit the part: Charlie and Max Carver of TV's "Teen Wolf," as well as Shawn and Aarin Ashmore, who've starred in "X-Men: Days of Future Past" and TV's "Smallville," respectively.

It's also possible the parts could be played by one actor, with camera tricks and body doubles, or with spitting look-alikes. Actual identical twins ease the issues of production, though, similar to the twin guards featured in "Terminator 2: Judgment Day."

Aside from Tomax and Xamot, there are reports the "G.I. Joe 3" cast of characters will also feature another Hasbro fan favorite, Mobile Armored Strike Kommand (M.A.S.K.) leader Matt Trakker. M.A.S.K and G.I. Joe were hugely popular franchises, with their own animated series and toy line to boot.

With an ensemble of new and returning characters, could Matt Trakker's involvement in the "G.I. Joe 3" cast lead to spin-offs and sequels? (filmdivider.com)
