Jung Woo achieved new popularity when he played the role of a 1970s-era medical student in the drama "Reply 1994." The way the drama wove cultural events into the story took viewers on a time trip.

Jung Woo's film "C'est Si Bon" is likely to do the same. In that film he plays the third member of a folk singing group performing in the 1960s. The group in the film is based on Twin Folio, a folk singing group that was actually popular at the time. But Twin Folio was only a two-person group. The film asks, "what if there was a third singer"

Jung Woo plays Oh Geun Tae, the additional singer.

The film is set in a Seoul music hall. It follows the story of the young men in the group as they learn about love and grow in popularity. It's also the story of what happens to their muse, played alternately by Han Hyo Joo and Kim Min Hee.

In an interview with the Joongang Daily, Jung Woo was asked why he chose roles in such nostalgic films. The 34-year-old actor said that although both the drama and film evoke the past, the eras had a very different feel to him.

"The 1990s was electrifying, whereas the '60s and '70s were warmer and cozier," he said.

And the 60's was an easier decade for the actor to identify with. He already liked listening to folk songs because of the lyrics and "down-to-earth-melodies."

And he identified with the character. He knew what it was like to be young and want to have your talent recognized.

"I could completely put myself in Geun Tae's shoes," he said to the Joongang Daily. "I wanted to be an actor, but I didn't know what I should do to achieve that. I was always nervous. My parents ran a bookstore in my hometown, Busan, so I read a lot of movie-related magazines and kept myself busy checking the audition dates posted on the back cover. I auditioned whenever I got the opportunity."

Jung Woo also previously appeared in the films "Doomsday Book" and "Red Family," as well as the dramas "Dandelion Family" and "You're The Best Lee Soon Shin."

The film opened on February 5 in Korea. "C'est Si Bon" also stars Kim Yun Suk, Jang Hyun Sung, Jin Goo, Kim In Kwon, Kang Ha Neul and Bok Rae.

The film is named after the popular French song "C'est Si Bon."
