On March 17, action film “The Divine Move” will be released on DVD and Blu-Ray. “The Divine Move” is an action-infused gambling movie starring Jung Woo Sung (Cold Eyes) and Lee Beom Soo (Triangle).
The movie explores the high-stakes world of underground GO or baduk gambling. Baduk is a traditional board game which originated in China as one of the four essential arts. The game is more than 2,500 years old. “The Divine Move” examines the dark side of the ancient game and its role in organized crime.
Jung Woo Sung portrays Tae Seok, a reformed professional baduk player who is thrust back into the game when his brother gambles his life away. He is forced to engage in a winner-takes-all baduk game with Sal Soo (Lee Beom Soo), a ruthless underground kingpin.
Tae Seok is then accused of murder and he is sentenced to serve a tumultuous term in prison.
During his prison term, Tae Seok trains to become a better baduk player and plots his revenge against his brother's killers. When he is released from prison, he systematically executes his revenge.
Choi Jin Hyuk (The Heirs, The Emergency Couple) is included in the cast of “The Divine Move” as Seon Soo, a specialized baduk player, who works for Sal Soo.
"The Divine Move" was presented and produced by Showbox and Mediaplex, with distribution by CJ Entertainment.
The Blu-Ray release of the film will include bonus features such as “The Making of the Divine Move” and the movie trailer. The movie is unrated but parental guidance is encouraged due to violence and adult themes such as gambling.
