The first trailer for the upcoming family film “Jang Soo Shop” was released on February 23 through Naver TV Cast. The movie chronicles the romance of an elderly couple and their loved ones.
Sung Chil (Park Geun Hyeong) is an ill-tempered senior citizen who is a shop clerk at the Jang Soo Shop. After his outlook on life changes when he meets Geum Nim (Youn Yuh Jung). The couple is happy with the new-found romance but their complacency is disrupted. Geum Nim's daughter Min Jung disapproves of the relationship and not afraid to express her feelings to her mother.
“Jang Soo Shop” marks the first film role for Chanyeol of SM Entertainment's EXO. The preview opens with the K-pop star's bright smile and scenes where he displays his youthful spirit. Chanyeol portrays Min Jung, a young man who is dating daughter of the shop owner, Jang Soo. The movie provides the idol with an opportunity to show off his quirky personality and comedic timing, which were highlights of "Roommate."
In addition to serving as his first film role, "Jang Soo Shop" is his first major acting project. He has previously appeared in cameo roles on "High Kick" and "To the Beautiful You."
Min Jung's girlfriend, A Young, is portrayed by Mun Ka Young (Mimi, Heartstrings). Seasoned actor Cho Jin Woo portrays the title role, Jang Soo. Jang Soo is the common thread who links the neighbors and friends.
Han Ji Min will have the opportunity to shed the role of the wide-eyed ingenue that she has been cultivating for "Jekyll, Hyde, and I."
"Jang Soo Shop" will premier in 2015 but has yet to announce a release date.
