ABC's long running show "Castle" stirs up controversy as fans excitingly look forward to another season. Has the show wrapped things up already or will there be a season 8?
Due to the series' contract issues of its stars and Bracken and 3XK, two of the series' biggest storylines, suddenly being sacked up, fans are in a blur: Is season 8 cancelled or renewed?
Chances are "Castle" would have another season as executive producer David Amann seems to be quite confident, though admits that the final decision was not his to make, on the chances of the series' continuity to a new season.
"I think the show has a number of years left in it, if the TV gods smile upon us" "I think there is plenty of story left to be told with these characters." Amann told Assignment X.
Though late last year, doubts rose up as contract issues with both Nathan Filion and Stana Katic end after Season 7. Though fans have discovered that Katic, who plays a homicide detective, is sure to sign on for another season. Will both finally ink another contract for season 8?
Earlier this year, ABC president Paul Lee shared, though not official, that "Castle" would probably be coming back after Season 7. Speaking to TV Line, Amann shared, "Obviously, we're prepared for whatever comes along, and we'll adjust as necessary, but we're hopeful that the show will move forward. In the meantime, we'll just make the best show that we can."
The possible cancellation of Season 8 will be a heartbreaking moment for fans, especially since it was recently reported that there will be a new addition to the "Castle" family.
In an interview with TV Guide, Amann said Beckett just might get pregnant this season.
"She's been driven for the better part of her adult life by the death of her mother, which is now resolved. Her relationship with Castle is settled, so she's at a place now where she really needs to be thinking about, 'What does she want that future to be?'" he said.
"It seems like children are going to naturally be a part of that discussion," Amann added.
"Castle" Season 7 airs Mondays at 9 p.m. on ABC.
