There are so many dramas and there is so little time that it can be hard to keep up. That's why k-drama lovers may want to note that Jang Nara is likely to appear in the drama "Hello Monster," which will air in June. It's a ways off but considering how wonderful she was in "Fated To Love You" and "Mr. Baek," she's well worth the wait.
This time she might pair up with actor Lee Jin Wook of "Nine: Nine Time Travels" and "The Three Musketeers."
Jang Nara's role has been described as being a "stalker" but that's not necessarily a bad thing. The role she has been offered is Cha Ji An, a special criminal investigator. So, it's likely that the people she will stalk are criminals, even monstrous ones.
Lee Jin Wook is up for the role of a criminal profiler who is also a bit of recluse. Having trained in New York City, the home of "Law and Order," he returns to Korea to lead a criminal investigations unit. His unit visits crime scenes and supplies a profile of the likely suspect. With that information it's up to police officers like Cha Ji An to capture the bad guys.
Descriptions of the KBS drama plot use the word "dangerous" when referring to Lee Jin Wook's character. But they don't explain if he's dangerous because he's volatile, secretly a criminal or just dangerous because he's so handsome Jang Nara's character might fall in love with him.
That's likely anyway since they are the drama leads. We do know from the plot summary that they will work together to solve crimes.
It's hard to imagine the tiny cute Jang Nara cornering any criminals so she will probably have to prove herself as a policewoman. And she may have to prove her worth to Lee Jin Wook's character. But the writer of this drama knows how to make that happen.
Kwon Ki Young, who wrote "Protect The Boss" and "All About My Romance," is writing the screenplay for "Hello Monster." If the character of Cha Ji An is anything like the feisty secretary played by Choi Kang Hee in "Protect The Boss," she'll know how to survive a brawl and subdue a perp.
No Sang Hoon, the director of "Queen of the Office" will direct "Hello Monster."
The drama is set to follow "Who Are You - 2015," which follows "Blood."
