On March 30, K-pop girl group Miss A released their third extended play album “Colors” to great fanfare. “Colors” spans genres but remains firmly planted within the soulful pop that launched the group in 2010. Fans anticipated the release from the four-member act after their four year absence following their 2013 studio album “Hush.” However, the focus of their promotional activities has been strongly impacted by the March 22 article from Dispatch which revealed the relationship between Lee Min Ho and Miss A’s Suzy. While the group has had the opportunity to discuss the creative process behind their release, many of the questions directed to Suzy have been focused on her relationship.
During an April 8 interview for SBS PowerFM, Miss A members Min and Fei were asked whether they thought the relationship announcement may have adversely affected their comeback. They demonstrated support for Suzy through their positive response, “We were not concerned about that.”
Their lack of concern about the reaction from fans could be attributed to the fact that the overall response from netizens has been positive, in regards to the relationship between the two Hallyu stars. However, the dating scandal may have helped to provide fuel for netizens who have claimed that Suzy has been bullied or singled out by the other members of Miss A. Two of the hottest forum topics on Pann have been negative comments which were placed on Miss A’s Instagram account in support of Suzy and whether she appears to be out of place in the group.
The members of Miss A continue to take the recent events in stride. Min and Fei were upbeat throughout their appearance on PowerFM.They went on to reveal that they were as surprised as everyone else, upon hearing news that Suzy was dating the “Gangnam 1970” star.
